Please pray for the family of Bro. James Rainwater a Member of our Tri State Preachers Fellowship.

Dr. James Henry Rainwater, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009.

He was a lifelong resident of the Tri-State area and a member of Berean Baptist Church, Trenton. He was employed by Siskin Steel for 11 years before being called to the Ministry. He was the Pastor of Robertsville Baptist Church, Mineral Park Baptist, Victory Baptist Temple, Ohio, and Berean Baptist Church, Fla. He was a professor at Covington Theological Seminary from 1981 to 1983 and Bethany Bible College and Seminary, Dothan, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Elbert and Estel Rainwater; and brother, Euel C. Rainwater.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Stella Rainwater; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and George Cooper, of Rock Spring; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Pam Rainwater, of LaFayette; sister, Vera Duke; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Rainwater, all of Ala.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 2009, all day Sunday and prior to the service Monday.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Jones officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South, Rossville.
