We had a blessed time last month at the Fellowship Baptist Church in East Ridge. Bro. Chris Peponis and his folks were great hosts and we heard two fine messages. Bro. Kevin Norton “set the house on fire” with his message from Acts 7 “What Will You Do When They Throw Stones at You?” and Bro. Randy Lynn preached a thought-provoking message “Sight Without Vision” from Numbers 13.

 Our next meeting is Thursday, February 2, 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill where Bro. Tony Hyatt is the pastor. We look forward to our fellowship together. Evangelist Dean McNeese and Bro. George Pinion, pastor of Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church in Rossville, are our scheduled speakers. Pray for these two good men as they prepare to minister to our hearts.

 Mark your calendars now and plan on attending the 20th Annual Meeting of the Independent Baptist Fellowships of Georgia statewide meeting. The meeting is being held this year at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle in Jonesboro, GA where Bro. Joe Arthur is the pastor. The meeting is being held on March 26-27. Bro. George Pinion is taking his van down and has graciously offered anyone a ride down. Please let him know if you would like to ride down with him. His church number is 706-866-2156. Our fellowship is receiving a special offering to help offset the expenses of the meeting. Anyone wishing to contribute may designate your gifts for the meeting and place them in our regular monthly offering. Make your checks out to the Tri-state Independent Baptist Preachers Fellowship and we will pool all of the offerings together and give it as one offering from the fellowship.

We had a great time at our meeting in December. We appreciate Pastor Ricky Gravly and the good folks at Bible Baptist Church for hosting the meeting and serving a fine meal. Bro. Steve Goolsby preached an inspiring message from Acts 4 on “What It Means to be with Jesus”. Pastor Clyde Painter challenged everyone with a message from Matthew 27 “Learning the Bear the Cross”. We thank God for these two good men and these fine messages.

Our first meeting for the new year is scheduled for Thursday, January 12, 10 a.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in East Ridge where Bro. Chris Peponis is pastor. Our scheduled preachers for the day are Bro. Kevin Norton of Mountain View Baptist Church and Bro. Randy Lynn, our moderator for the past two years and pastor of Moriah Baptist Church. I trust you will be able to attend.

Bro. Rick Spence has asked us to pray for his son-in-law who is at Erlanger Hospital. He is experiencing numbness, weakness, and disorientation. Numerous tests have ruled out some things but still no diagnosis. His name is Sam Lunsford.

Dear Preacher

The November Preachers Fellowship at Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church was a great encouragement. The preachers brought two great messages; Bro. Ricky Gravely brought the first message from Luke 14:1-6 on the subject of “Hard Places”.  Bro. Jack Reiss brought the second message on “Ittai”; his text was 2 Sam. 15.  We want to thank Pastor George Pinion and all the Elizabeth Terrace Baptist family for their hospitality and for providing the delicious meal for all the preachers during the fellowship.

Please continue to pray for the Morgan and Pinion families during this their time of grief.

Our next meeting will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1^st 2011 @ Bible Baptist Church located in Rossville, GA where Bro. Ricky Gravely is the host Pastor. Our preachers for the month of December are Bro. Steve Goolsby member of Bible Baptist Church and Bro. Clyde Painter the Pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church.

The new officers for 2012 were chosen by the fellowship during the November meeting. They are Moderator Bro. Tim McCulley, Vice Moderator Bro. Mark Brandon and Secretary/Treasurer Bro. Dale Kidd. Please be praying for these leaders as they make decisions for the fellowship.  Again I would like to thank you for allowing me to minister as secretary for the past five years; it has been a great blessing in my life to work with all of you.
